the .IO Network Information Centre

The .IO Domain Name is the ISO-3166 code for the British Indian Ocean Territory and is administered exclusively by ourselves.

Founded in 1997, the .IO domain registry is directed by its parent company, the Internet Computer Bureau PLC (ICB).

The ICB headquarters is located in Christchurch, England and also has data centres in London, Tokyo, Melbourne, Seattle, San Francisco, Zurich and Amsterdam.

Led by it's Chairman, Paul M. Kane, ICB operates a number of Country Level Top Level Domain Name registry systems and also provides software, routing and satellite services to Domain Name Registries, Government telecommunication authorities and telecommunication companies around the world.

The .IO domain registry is an active member of the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries who discuss matters affecting Country Code Top Level Domain registries and acts as a channel of communication to Internet governing bodies and other organisations involved with the Internet.
